On September 20, 2023, the School of Statistics and Mathematics carried out a safety education activity for international students in the new semester in Conference Room 650 of the Comprehensive Building, which was presided over by Chen Ji, Vice Dean of our school. Zhu Zhaochen, Deputy Director, Wang Yanfeng, Deputy Director of the Department, and Lei Churui of the Foreign Affairs Office participated in the activity and put forward proposals and messages on the safety during the Asian Games, the study and life of international students in the new semester, etc. In the spirit of being highly responsible for the safety and stability of the campus, our school earnestly implements the responsibility system for safety work, and takes this activity to solidly promote the management of international students during the Asian Games.

First of all, Vice Dean Chen Ji gave cordial visits to all the international students, and learned in detail about their academic planning, vacation arrangements and daily life, and then gave targeted valuable suggestions. He reminded them to pay attention to the safety of water and electricity in the dormitory during the holidays, and told them to abide by the school rules, complete the night roll call on time every day, and report the itinerary. He also conducted safety education for international students in transportation and other aspects, reminding them to beware of theft, robbery and deception during their trips and activities. He pointed out that students involved in going out of the province should apply to the college through the DingDing platform in advance, and reminded students to report information to the college as soon as possible when they go out and return. Vice Dean Chen Ji earnestly cares about the situation of international students and understands the actual needs of them, which makes international students feel very warm.

Then, Zhu Zhaochen, the master's supervisor, emphasized and vividly elaborated on the safety issues of the Asian Games. At the meeting, he showed everyone the highlights of the Asian Games, like the light show and the venues for Games via video link, and encouraged the international students to actively participate in the upcoming Asian Games with a serious and responsible attitude, learn about relevant culture, and experience the charm of China in person. He also stressed that school rules should be strictly observed, no entry and exit of the Asian Games venues without a ticket, and no drones should be used near the venues to fully escort the Asian Games. During the Asian Games, all international students should pay attention to traffic safety, fire safety and personal safety.

Finally, Lei Chului of the Foreign Affairs Office of our school supplemented the content of safety education. She pointed out that the late roll call system would be implemented throughout the Asian Games holiday, requiring all international students to clock in every night to effectively protect their safety and always prevent accidents. She led international students to learn the latest international student manual and signed the relevant commitment letter. In addition, she also added that international students should obey school rules, resolutely say no to drugs, and refuse to take illegal part-time jobs during the holidays. She warned international students to abide by school rules and pay attention to holiday safety issues, reconcile work with rest, work hard and make brilliant achievements in their overseas study career.

This safety education activity has narrowed the distance between the school and international students and conveyed to them the our concern and attention. Leaders and teachers have also put forward initiatives for international students, encouraging them to pay attention to personal safety, step up their efforts to study, and strive to be excellent ZJSUers.
