Dear International Students,

2024年的第一个小长假要来了，2023年12月30日（星期六）至2024年1月1日（星期一）放假，共3天。2024年1月2日（星期二）正常返校上课。

The first short break of 2024 is approaching, with a holiday from December 30, 2023 (Saturday) to January 1, 2024 (Monday), lasting for 3 days. Classes will resume on January 2, 2024 (Tuesday).

2023年即将画上圆满的句号。感谢大家这一年来对学校工作的理解与支持！

As we approach the end of the year and welcome the new one, 2023 is drawing to a successful close. We would like to express our gratitude for your understanding and support of the school's efforts throughout this year.

1.假期去向告知：住校的同学应遵守宿舍管理规定，按时回学校休息；如需假期外出旅行应提前在钉钉上请假，并告知学院老师去向和返回时间。

Holiday Plans Notification: Students residing on campus are required to adhere to dormitory management regulations and return to school on time. If you need to travel outside during the holiday period, please do remember to ask for leave  by Dingtalk and inform your college teachers in advance about your destination and return date.

2.健康安全：近期天气多变，请大家注意适时增减衣物，适量运动，预防生病。节假日期间避免暴饮暴食、过量饮酒，以免伤害身体。

Health Safety: Due to the recent unpredictable weather, please keep warm and regular exercise to avoid getting sick. Please avoid overeating and excessive alcohol consumption during the holidays.

3.交通安全：大家在节假日外出期间，请务必遵守中国交通法规，保护自己和他人的安全。外出使用出租车或共享乘车服务时，请确保选择正规的交通工具。

Traffic Safety: Please strictly abide by traffic laws and regulations of China when going out during the holidays, safeguarding your own and others' safety. When using taxi or ride-sharing services while going out, please make sure to choose reputable transportation options.

4.财产安全：离开房间时，请务必检查门窗是否已经关好。旅行过程中，请务必保管好自己的贵重物品，如护照、钱包、手机等；外出时尽量避免出入人员十分拥挤的场所，尽量避免夜间单独外出。避免随身携带大量现金，谨防扒窃。

Property Safety: When leaving your room, please make sure to check if the doors and windows are securely closed. During your travels, be sure to safeguard your valuable belongings such as passports, wallets, and mobile phones. Try to avoid crowded places as much as possible when going out, and minimize solo outings at night. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash on your person to guard against theft.

5.宿舍安全：为防止发生火灾等事故，请注意安全用电！禁止私拉电线，存放易燃易爆、易腐蚀、剧毒及有放射性等危险物品；严禁在寝室内使用大功率电器(大功率电器指功率超过1000W的电器，如电磁炉、电热锅、热得快、电热褥、电熨斗等电热器具)；离开寝室务必切断室内电源。

Dormitory Safety: To prevent accidents like fires, please pay attention to electrical safety! It is strictly prohibited to privately extend electrical wiring, store flammable, explosive, corrosive, highly toxic, or radioactive materials. High-power electrical appliances (defined as those with a power rating exceeding 1000W, such as induction cookers, electric hot pots, water heaters, electric blankets, irons, etc.) are strictly forbidden for use in dormitory rooms. When leaving the dormitory, be sure to disconnect the room's electrical power supply.

6.谨防诈骗：学校或其他正规机构不会以电话或短信的形式向你要求转账或汇款，因此接到类似要求的电话或短信时，请先向老师咨询核实，或直接报警。网上购物时，一定要在正规网站上进行交易支付，不要随意点击各种链接，更不要把验证码告知他人，主动提高防范意识。

Beware of Frauds: Schools or other legitimate institutions will not request money transfers or payments via phone calls or text messages. Therefore, if you receive such requests through phone calls or text messages, please first consult with your teachers to verify or report them to the authorities. When shopping online, always conduct transactions and payments on reputable websites. Avoid clicking on random links and never share verification codes with others. Take proactive measures to enhance your awareness of fraud prevention.

7.远离毒品：严禁毒品，任何涉毒行为，包括吸毒，贩毒，运毒，藏毒，都是违法行为。特别提醒各位同学，大麻在中国也是违禁品，另外请警惕在我省高校发现的新型毒品，通常以电子烟里掺入合成大麻素的形式出现，请各位国际生们务必高度关注。

Stay Away from Drugs: Drug use is strictly prohibited, and any involvement in drug-related activities, including drug use, trafficking, transporting, or concealing drugs, is illegal. We especially want to remind all students that marijuana is also illegal in China. And BE AWARE of a new type of drug that have been found among college students in our province, usually appear in the form of synthetic cannabinoids mixed in electronic cigarettes. Please DO pay high attention.
