The 1st International Conference on Composite Indicators and Comprehensive Evaluation was successfully held at Zhejiang Gongshang University from May 20th to 22nd, 2019. The conference was attended by several experts and scholars, including Professor Roman Slowiński from Poznan University of Technology in Poland, Professor Qiu Dong from Beijing Normal University, Professor Li Wu from the University of Windsor in Canada, Professor Wu Lang from the University of British Columbia in Canada, Professor Gregory E. Kersten from Concordia University in Canada, Professor Xiao Yimin from Michigan State University in the United States, Professor Tomas from the Lithuanian Institute of Agriculture, and Associate Professor Zeng Shouzhen from Ningbo University.
The opening ceremony of the conference was hosted by Professor Chen Zhenlong from Zhejiang Gongshang University, and Professor Su Weihua, Vice President of Zhejiang Gongshang University, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.
During the conference, 9 keynote speeches were given by invited experts and scholars from universities around the world. The topics of these speeches included "Constructive Preference Learning for Decision Aiding", "Why HDI is far from Mature as a Substitution of GDP? Comments on The Composite Indicator Method from the Perspective of Economic Statistics", and "Game theoretic decision models for incorporating corporate social responsibility into supply chain management", among others. The speeches were moderated by Professor Li Wu from the University of Windsor, Professor Su Weihua, Professor Zhu Facang, and Professor Chen Ji. Experts and scholars from around the world discussed the theme of comprehensive evaluation and its applications in statistical composite indicators, management decision-making and evaluation, multi-dimensional statistical data dimensionality reduction, complex system integration, operations optimization, and other fields.
The conference was hosted by Zhejiang Gongshang University, with the School of Statistics and Mathematics undertaking the organization. Scholars attending the conference delivered comprehensive reports and engaged in in-depth discussions based on their research findings regarding theoretical and applied issues related to composite indicators and comprehensive evaluation. The successful hosting of this conference has strengthened academic exchanges among scholars in the field of composite indicator theory and comprehensive evaluation, and has promoted in-depth collaborative research with international top experts and renowned universities.
